Local Soccer Scene was on hand for a tough battle for the 12th ranked San Jose Earthquakes. Santa Clara's Buckshaw stadium was the site for a game to remember in the first half of 2009. A short week included an away game in Seattle one week ago along with a midweek US Open Cup loss to the NY Red Bulls. String a few losses in a row and it will tend to put teams or anyone for that matter into desperation mode for the next contest. Visiting CD Chivas brought the excitement and style of soccer that has placed them atop the MLS standings and what we've known from EL Classico Equipo de Mexico el jefe de futbol.

The result didn't come in Seattle, but the Quakes played one of their strongest matches of the season against Sounders FC. With a Chivas USA side that has looked a bit off in its last two matches paying a visit to Buck Shaw Stadium this weekend, the time is now for San Jose to come away with an impact victory to change their fortunes.
